"A classroom teacher of Social Studies at the high school level for 41 years, I am now retired. My New Hampshire certification consisted of Social Studies, Grades 7-12. Having earned Master Teacher status, I taught all levels of students with differing abilities and all courses listed in the Social Studies curriculum. Although my main focus consisted of American History and Government, I also taught Economics, European History, Geography, World History and various electives. When needed, I frequently tutored students in any of those areas for the school district, as well as tutoring students in both Math and English at Sylvan Learning Centers.
During that time, I also served as an Adjunct Professor at Manchester Community College and Mount St. Mary College. In this capacity, I taught Western Civilization, American History, American Government and Women's Studies. Currently, I volunteer at the New Hampshire Historical Society in Concord, New Hampshire, where I write articles for their on line time line, do research projects for both the Society and private individuals, and transcribe primary sources for their database.
My extensive experience includes working with all levels of high school students, ranging from AP students to students with a myriad of learning disabilities and IEPS and 401s. I also have a wide range of knowledge in many areas of Social Studies and have traveled globally to the sites of many of the events which I have taught.
I am passionate about both my subject matter and teaching and I believe both my enthusiasm and knowledge quickly become apparent. My former principal often referred to me as the most knowledgeable historian he knows." less...
