"Would you like to learn Spanish or Quichua? I mean, really like to learn?

Sure, learning Spanish or Quichua is quite an undertaking. I could give you five reasons not to learn either language right off the bat:

1. You're too busy.

2. You're too old.

3. You don't have a 'gift' for languages.

4. You get bored in class.

5. You don't have the time to take a college more...

5. You don't have the time to take a college course.

And, right off the bat, I can tell you that you can learn these languages because:

1. No one is so busy that they can't scrape together 15 minutes of practice a day. If you can't do all 15 minutes at one time, divide it into 5 minutes in the morning, five right before lunch, and five at night. I'll give you suggestions on how to do it.

2. No one is ever too old or too young to learn. I've had students ranging from eight years old to seventy-two years old!

3. You don't need a gift for languages to learn and use the basics. Did you need a 'gift' for languages to learn your native one? Nope! So, you won't need a 'gift' to learn a new language either!

4. Boredom is a relative term; sometimes it's the way a teacher teaches, sometimes it's the way a student perceives things. But, I'll do my best to make sure that you aren't bored. And, if you do find yourself bored, just let me know, and together, we'll do something about it.

5. Unless you want to become a language service professional, you probably don't need to take a college course in Spanish or Quichua in order to speak it. My focus as a teacher is on you speaking the language, and understanding the basics of its grammar.

I've been a Spanish/Quichua language teacher for almost 27 years, both as a volunteer in South America and as a professional. Classes can be conducted either with individuals or with groups of up to 10 students. If you're in the greater New York metropolitan area, let me know and we can talk about in-person classes. My curriculum and methods are based on what my students needs, so if you have certain requirements for specific subjects, let me know.

And, I never yell." less...
