"I have 18 years of teaching experience in Spanish and ELL. I have taught high school Spanish I - IV Honors and at the university level as a Spanish Instructor at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. I am designated as a Highly Qualified Teacher with PK-12 certification in both Spanish and English as a Second Language. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree and am currently earning my doctorate in Education at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

In my 18 years of teaching experience, I have honed my communication skills with administrators, students, parents, community leaders, and business representatives both domestically and abroad. I believe communication and common sense are the two most important skills to have in education. For the past eight years, I have led Study Abroad programs in Spain and Costa Rica.

In addition to teaching, I have tutored students for over 20 years. In graduate school, I worked at MTSU tutoring undergraduates in Spanish. I approach tutoring just as I do teaching in a classroom setting. Creativity is a necessity in the teaching world and I thrive at creating new ideas and presentation styles. I am also advanced at incorporating technology into presentations, especially visuals such as video, web searches, info-graphs, and PowerPoint, and I pay great attention to detail.
