"For eight years I taught at Portland Community College in Oregon and at Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA I've taught Beginners Spanish, levels II, III and advanced Spanish conversation. I've taught Spanish medical terminology at different hospitals throughout Oregon and Washington state. I have tutored students, teens to adults. What I love most about tutoring is the chance to teach one-on-one so the student can receive all the attention that they need. I love to teach classes of 20+ students but when I tutor It gives me the opportunity to tutor the student according to their needs in order for them to succeed in learning a new language.

When I taught at the two colleges I mentioned, it gave me great joy when I saw the progress that a lot of my students were making in learning the Spanish language. So far it's been the most enjoyable and satisfying job I've ever had.

I participated in the Survival English program with the PCC Community Education in Hillsboro, Oregon. I taught non-English-speaking students to learn the English language. Being a native from Habana, Cuba when I came to the US, the schools did not have and ESL program for students to learn English and I was able to relate to them and supported them to overcome the fear of learning the English language.

Spanish is my first language and more importantly I have the ability to instruct the Spanish language to the degree of retention. I modestly would like to say that complements were given by many of my students and the following of students proceeded.

It's not that difficult to learn how to speak Spanish and It would be a rewarding experience for both, teacher and student. Looking forward to hearing from you.( Si se Puede), Yes You Can! I believe in an old proverb that says, "WHEN THE STUDENT IS READY, THE TEACHER WILL APPEAR." In my teaching experience I have witnessed this many many times. It's wonderful." less...
