"Hello, I am currently in a senior in my undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Audiology. After this year I will be enrolled in a doctorate program to receive my Doctorate in Audiology.

Since graduating high school, I have over three years of experience working with children in grades pre-school through eighth. In that time working in the schools, I have had plenty of opportunities to help children with their schoolwork and studying. Nothing is more rewarding than helping a child to better understand a concept.

Throughout my high school and college career I have taken many classes ranging from biology and chemistry to environmental science and anatomy. Aside from that, I have a strong personal interest in science, particularly space and environmental science. I have spent countless years studying stars, planets, climate science, and geology.

For most of my life, one of my strongest areas of study has been English. I was a part of my school newspaper in high school where I wrote for my own monthly column. There, I wrote narratives/non-fiction pieces. Being that I have taken courses for almost four years involving linguistics, writing, phonetics, speech and language development, augmentative alternative communication, professional writing, etc., I believe that I have valuable knowledge and skills to share.

Overall, I believe that education should be fun and exciting. Oftentimes, concepts in school are taught in a “one way or the highway” style. This inadvertently turns many children away from their potential when they struggle with the one or two ways in which an educator teaches a concept. I want to be able to motivate children and peak their interest in subjects they may have already given up on. We should not live in a world where children say “I hate math” or “I hate history,” because they truly don’t.
