I am 42 years old and live at Tribeca Manhattan. I am a patient teacher and love teaching. I have a strong math and statistics background with an MS in applied math and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics. I was born in Beijing and speaks standard Chinese. Starting as a private tutor when I was only in college, I successfully helped many high school seniors excel in China's college exam, allowing them to get into their first choice university.

After I came to the US, I became a graduate teaching assistant at Vanderbilt, the "Harvard of the South", and began teaching classes for undergraduate students, doing recitation for them every morning to help them review material.

I firmly believe that students must be actively engaged in the learning process to master and come to own the material, whether they are still learning fundamental algebra or trying to ace their AP calculus course. That is why I give hints and ask questions to lead students into finding solutions on their own rather than giving the solution right away.
