"Hi, I'm Sean! I graduated with honors from the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the New School in New York. I was a jazz performance major with my main instrument as guitar but I also have basic piano and upright bass abilities as well. In addition to regularly performing in and around New York, I worked as a tutor while attending the New School and as a private lesson instructor after graduating. While in school I tutored up to 17 students at a week, creating individualized lesson plans with clear weekly goals and at-home practice methods to help students see the results they wanted. I firmly believe that no two students are the same and a eschew a cookie cutter approach towards teaching.

I teach a variety of subjects including guitar (basic to advanced), rhythmic analysis, ear training, music theory, and composition and can help you fill in the gaps in your knowledge or set you on a path to an entirely new discovery! My personal philosophy is that music is a personal journey and that guides my teaching philosophy by focusing lessons on helping you achieve your goals of self-expression through practical methodology.
