"Hello! I tutor students in a wide array of subjects including grade school and high school math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus), reading and English, test prep (COOP, PSAT, SAT ACT) and AP History, English and Psychology.

My background is in Philosophy (BA), Media Culture and Communications (MA) and I am currently pursuing a licensure in psychology/psychoanalysis. I have also previously taught undergraduate courses in Communications, Digital Media and other areas.

During my grade school years, I excelled in mathematics. In 8th grade, I was introduced to Algebra I, and finished my grade school days taking Trigonometry, in which I achieved grades of a A+. During my four years at the University of the Virgin Islands, I took College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus, which was a little more challenging, but it sharpened my math skills to a greater extent. I may not be a teacher by trade; however, with my ability to effectively train employees and years of tutoring elementary math, I can assure you I'm an effective tutor, listener, and passionate about students' success.

My approach to tutoring is simple. First, I interviewed the parents and student. From there, I develop a game plan to get the student back on track with his or her good grades, and then I will use the sessions to help the student take a more positive approach to the math subject. During my tutoring sessions, I like to start off with the basic rules of the subject, assuring that the student can master them.
