"I have been ranked as 2nd in Florida for my age and leading my team to winning 2nd and 3rd place back to back Nationals. I also placed (individually) tied for 10th in the country at K-9 National Championships scoring against several masters. I currently rank among the top 99% on both Lichess (2100+) and Chess.com rapid ratings. I have been teaching chess to elementary students as well as playing competitively in local, state, and national events since 2010. I learned how to play chess at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love.
The best part about tutoring is watching my students succeed and enjoy the game as much as I do. My tutoring journey started when I was in 5th grade I ran an after school chess program for about 20-25 1st-4th graders. In high school, I started 1 on 1 lessons in tournament preparation. I specialize in mastering endgames and opening theory. So if it's your first time touching a chess board, or you've been playing for years, I can help you improve your game. I enjoy reviewing students' games and highlighting critical moves and positions with them. All of my students were able to compete in local tournaments and win trophies. I've worked 1 on 1 for over 5 years with a Grandmaster and former Cuban Champion. I have implemented aspects of his lessons to my students as well. I am a current member of the Rochester City Chess Club NY and USCF rated 1952.
I am a heavily involved 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). I am a tutor for MCAS at RIT. There I work with peers 1 on 1 in math, science, and engineering courses. (Statics, Strengths of Materials, Pre-Calc, Calc 1&2, Algebra 1&2 etc). I have a strong foundation in math, scoring a 780/800 on the SAT Math and 33 ACT Math score. If you are a 1st or 2nd year student or even preparing for college, I might be able to help.
I am very flexible and willing to work with you and your schedule. I hope to hear from you soon!" less...
