I recently worked in a school district for 17 years in the suburban Chicago, IL area as a para-educator. I have experience in both the general education classroom setting, as well as in the special education setting.

I have had my own tutoring business that I ran after school and during the summer months. I love seeing children that have been struggling, feel more confident after some individual help. I understand that sometimes parents and kids can 'butt heads', and a tutor can help be the neutral person.

I have taught a lot of language arts types of classes, that include, reading, and writing and vocabulary. Writing often tends to be the more difficult subject for many children. I have taught guided reading groups and individual reading lessons as well.
