"My name is Joe G. I have been blessed with the opportunity of teaching or tutoring math of all level for 17 years. I take joy in the moment where a student who has struggled with this historically challenging subject is able to do the work with confidence and success. Ultimately, it is about the student developing confidence and success in math with the ability to do it on their own consistently.

I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra, 2, Geometry, Math Models, Credit Recovery, Pre-Calculus, and Texas EOC Algebra 1 state testing prep. I have tutored in all of these subjects, and I have also tutored all college remedial math courses and College Algebra. I have the most success tutoring Algebra 1, Algebra 2, College Remedial math, and College Algebra. I have my Texas Teaching Certificate for Math 8-12 which is valid until June of 2024.

As far as my tutoring approach, the first thing I want to do is learn the student's name. I want to see what he or she has done with the math concept in question, and from there, I can decide a starting point for the tutoring session. Once the starting point has been decided, I will give a step-by-step method on how to do the problem with at least 2 to 3 different ways of doing the problem when possible. i like to give multiple ways of doing the problem so that the students can choose which one he or she is most comfortable with, and so that the student has a way of checking the answer. If a student can do a problem at least 2 different ways and end up with the same result at the end, it adds to the confidence of being assured that the answer is correct and adds to the confidence in doing the problem." less...
