I think that it important for students to be aware of their individual learning style -- visual, aural, kinesthetic, etc. -- and then develop strategies to capitalize on their strengths. I also believe that it is important to teach students from the level they are currently at, even if that is not where they are "supposed" to be, scholastically. Foundational knowledge is essential.
I have always been excited by entomology, ornithology and zoology. We can learn a great deal by understanding the natural world. In addition, it is very exciting to help non-native English speakers improve their skills so that they in turn feel more confident with their social, academic and business interactions.
I have an undergraduate degree in biology with advanced research and study in entomology and zoology. I also write book reviews for new academic books in the field.
