"Hi, I'm Peter! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, with a cumulative GPA of 3.75. I also minored in Theater and Performance Studies. I’ve always had a passion for learning and understanding new things, and I want to bring that joy and passion to other people! I’ve developed a lot of technical knowledge of Math and Physics through my training as an Engineer, and I’ve developed the ability to communicate that knowledge effectively through my theater experience. My approach to tutoring usually involves fun and creative real world applications of concepts being taught, then teaching the ability to generalize and abstract the problem into its core, solvable components. One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is the ability to reframe and approach the same concepts from different angles, allowing me to adapt my teaching style to best fit the student’s learning style.
As an engineering student, I've developed a strong understanding and command of Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, and Physics, and their applications to real world problems. I also understand that tutoring is a learning experience for myself: I need to learn the best way to teach each student. As such, I make sure to revise and adapt lesson plans as I continue to teach a student, tailoring the learning experience to best suit them.
I want to help the students with whom I work as much as possible. Furthermore, I hope to aid my students in finding the same curiosity and passion for learning as I have! Please feel free to contact me with further questions, or to schedule a lesson!" less...
