"My goal is to not only help students master a particular subject, but to teach them how to learn effectively and efficiently using the skills and confidence they need to become powerful lifelong learners in everything they decide to pursue.

I love teaching and started over a decade ago as the department tutor for organic chemistry at UC Irvine in 2007! I led both small group classes and lectures of over 100 students for pre-exam reviews. I got into tutoring because I was tutored throughout college and wanted to help students who were in the same position I was recently in. One of my tutors once asked me, "Why do you get tutored if you always get A's?" My response: "I get A's because I get tutored."

I have since continued to learn far more about how learning and memory work in the brain during my neuroscience PhD at UCLA. My most recent teaching position has been at UCLA, where I was a teaching apprentice for an upper-division pre-med laboratory neuroscience class, where I received outstanding student reviews.

During my time at UCLA, I also have done private one-on-one tutoring with students who got into MD, MD/PhD, and DVM/PhD programs at UCSF, Yale, and University of Wisconsin!

If you want to get into medical school, soon or further in the future, let me know! I have worked with the head of the MD/PhD program at UCLA for several years and have had candid discussions on what they are looking for in medical school applicants at UCLA.

I also excel in preparing for standardized tests and I received a perfect score on the GRE quantitative exam (800, back when it was out of 800). In high school, I also received a perfect score of 5 on the AP Biology exam as a freshman.

I was previously a biochemist at Stanford University School of Medicine after I received my bachelors degree at UC Irvine. I majored in biology with a focus on the neurobiology of learning and memory and excelled in organic chemistry. I also learned an excessive amount of mathematics beyond my major requirements, nearly enough for a math minor!" less...
