"Hi! I am a 4th year medical student at UCSF with a Masters degree in epidemiology from UC Berkeley and 4 years of experience tutoring students. I love to get know every student and their outside interests, and I am extremely empathetic to academic challenges and love to offer efficient and timely guidance and planning a successful study schedule.

I currently tutor 10+ hrs/week in pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, epidemiology, biostatistics, Stata, and Javascript. During medical and graduate school at UCSF and UC Berkeley, I used 20+ primary texts and online educational resources to create over 200 teaching documents and lessons, including neuroanatomy of the hypothalamus and thalamus using a train analogy. I am experienced with learning strategies such as interleaving, spacing, and active recall to help others make breakthroughs in retention and confidence.

I have worked with students with autism, anxiety, depression, ESL, cultural differences, and so on, which helps me connect with many types of students and received high-quality training from Compass Education, an elite tutoring company in the Bay Area. I often received feedback that my kind words and encouragement at critical moments have made a huge difference and I find this direct impact very rewarding.

I encourage each student's unique way of learning through a thorough initial conversation about themselves, minimize passive textbook reading, and aim to help students discover the way they learn and build life-long learning skills. I love to provide multiple clear and effective methods to solve problems and confidently conquer exams and exam anxiety using both knowledge and testing strategies. I also enjoy long term study planning, organization skills, and critical thinking development. Many of my students have started with me in one stage of education and continued over the years, and I love to see them grow academically and personally." less...
