"I am originally from Eugene, Oregon and after having lived a decade in South Korea I decided to pursue my MAT-TESOL from the University of Southern California's intensive back to back program and graduated Nov. 2015. After living in a massive city, I am trying to land a work place teaching position at the U of O or LCC. As an ESL Instructor, I have a passion to educate those for equal treatment, help people communicate effectively, and help those who are less fortunate survive in a competitive environment.

I am a 40-year old Korean American male born and raised in the United States. I went to Korea in 2004 to learn my parents' language and culture. In a globalised world, I call myself "a global citizen" as many people work between two cultures through English.

Along with my personal background and with my studies in sociology and psychology as double majors from the University of Maryland, I became naturally keen in socio-cultural factors in language. As I taught English for many years in Korea with various groups, I realised that language is the reflection of culture and the world.

I particularly adore diversity since I had the experience of racial discrimination in Korea while I was teaching English to local Koreans. Other than that, I enjoyed working with diverse people such as adult women, young men, and women, middle aged, and relatively old generations. Diversity supplies wisdom and fresh energy to the workplace. More recently, as a student at USC, I was the one who always invited different ideas from graduate students and put together those ideas from different races, gender, age, and other characteristics. I use inclusive language and practice inclusive workplace behaviours. To me, workplace diversity contributes richness to the community. Most of all, the world is increasingly interdependent among diverse races, cultures, and ideas.
