Mr. Mark R.

specializes in UT Ph.D. Student for Physics Tutoring · male

"I enjoy teaching and mentoring and have been tutoring part-time for roughly seven years, with 2.5 years as an undergraduate at UTSA and 4.5 years as a Ph.D. student at UT Austin. I'm a theoretical physicist with four published papers, and I'm about a year away from completing my Ph.D. Mostly I'm interested in quantum field theory, gravity, and black holes, and you're welcome to ask me about those. I have also co-founded a successful mentorship program called the Physics DRP at UT Austin.

As an undergraduate, I realized how much I enjoy teaching after I applied for the university's tutoring program. That was a delightful time, and I won an award for my work there. I then graduated with dual degrees in mathematics and physics, with a minor in astrophysics. Later, as a Ph.D. student, I thought it would be fun to pass the time during the pandemic by tutoring online through Wyzant. Now I do most of my tutoring through Wyzant, and I can help with mathematics, physics, and astrophysics/astronomy courses. I'm also an experienced AP and IB physics tutor and have provided consulting for business executives through Wyzant.

Please feel free to contact me to schedule a session. I'm patient and friendly and have lots of experience working with people trying to learn new things. There's nothing wrong with seeking help when you need it. In fact, I sought out tutoring while working toward my undergraduate degree." less...
