"Hey, I'm Zahid! I'm currently an undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin, pursuing my bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Throughout my life, I've always had a passion for math. I would frequently score in the upper percentiles of my math classes with very little effort, and I truly enjoyed building my knowledge of math. My math classes are always classes that I look forward to, and I never see them as a boring chore. Math is really fun for me! I'm that friend who always helps others with any questions they have for math classes. My passion for tutoring is limitless. I simply love explaining concepts in ways that students can easily understand. Whether students prefer more visual or verbal learning methods, I can adapt to their various needs of explanation. In the summer before my senior year of high school, I decided to take my passion and work for a local math tutoring center where I got to work with kids in grades K12, teaching them everything from simple addition to more complex precalculus concepts. I quickly became a favorite tutor among the regular kids that came, and I always looked forward to bringing a smile on their faces. In fact, I was considered to be one of their best role models for how a math tutor should perform, and new employees were often referred to me for training. I am also now certified to tutor students in more advanced calculus classes at my university tutoring center.
I have been a math tutor for almost 2 years now, and I have always taken the advanced level class options throughout my school education (e.g. AP Calculus, PreAP PreCalculus, AP Statistics, etc.). As for test certifications, I’ve received a perfect score of 800 on the math section of the SAT, a near perfect score of 35 on the ACT, and a perfect score of 5 on both the AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics tests. Because of those scores, I was given the awards of AP Scholar with Honor and AP Scholar with Distinction. By the end of my high school career, I graduated summa cum laude" less...
