"Hello! My name is Amanda A. I am a wife to an awesome husband that is a great hands on daddy, a mother of a three year old and one little boy on the way and a teacher who has taught in Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. I have taught Kindergarten through eighth grade. Each grade has helped me to learn how I can build relationships with my students and help them academically to be more successful to have a bright future.
I love to teach! To be able to help students figure out how they learn best to become successful is so encouraging! We all learn differently and when we find ways that work, it builds confidence and joy in the hearts of my students.
I am a patient teacher who likes to find fun ways to remember facts, step by step instructions and creative ways to remember ways to solve math problems. I have a degree in music education, and that helps to make up riddles, look them up or create them off the whim to better assist my students. I also have my MA in Special Education and find it a challenge to figure out a various ways to help your child.
With a background in Special Education, I have also worked with those who have language gaps. I LOVE teaching reading and have over 10 years of experience teaching reading in large groups, small groups or one on one. I started working at a Christian School last year, and thoroughly enjoyed Bible time with my students. It was engaging, uplifting and created a lot of discussion with the children.
Let’s build a positive learning environment where we enjoy ourselves as we learn and better ourselves academically!" less...
