"I have been teaching high school chemistry, physics and math for 22 years. Before becoming a teacher, I was an aerospace engineer for 12 years - yes, I am a rocket scientist! You, however, do not have to be a rocket scientist to succeed in math and science. I have tutored many students and helped them improve their math and science skills and grades over the years.

When tutoring a new student, or an old student in a new subject, I first assess what you already understand. From there, you and I together identify the specific difficulties you are having with the material. Then we work on learning how to overcome (or in some cases, work around) those difficulties.

One very important thing to understand is that there are multiple ways to solve a problem. If you reach a solution that satisfies the criteria given in the problem, and can explain how you arrived at that solution, the response should never be "But you can't do it that way!" Any engineer will tell you that the right way to solve a problem is "Whatever works!" Students learn in different ways, and it is perfectly OK to "think" math or science in different ways than other people do. I will help you find the way that is easiest for you.
