Differential Equations in Dover, NJ
I am taking and ODE class as a part time student, so far I have been doing good, but due to my years away from the classroom, my computer coding skills had faded away. I am about 4 years left in the military.
I need some assistance or if you could refer me to someone to assist me with a project, I worked on Maple by but my coding somehow is wrong.
This is the Project:
1. y'= 1 - ty, y(0) = 1, 0 t 5 Find the analytical solution and sketch it. Solve the equation numerically using Euler's method with a step size of h = 0.1 and h=0.01 compare the results with each other and with the analytic solution. What do you see.
2. Solve the equation numerically using the 2nd order Runge-Kutta method with the same choice of step sizes. For each choice of h, compare the results found using the two different numerical schemes with each other and with the analytical result. What do you see
3. for both choices of h, and for both numerical schemes, plot the absolute value of the error (difference between the numerical and analytical solutions). What do you see
4. Using Euler's method, reduce the step size by 1/2. What happens to the error. What should happen theoretically. Do the the same for the RK2 scheme.
