7th Grade Math in Raeford, NC

Hi Brittany, just to give you a little background info, I have 12 year old son in 7th grade. He has always struggled with math, and this year has started off even worse than others. He has HW that my husband and I have NO IDEA how to do, therefore we can't explain it any better to him! I have talked and talked with his math teacher and I really feel like I'm getting nowhere. His test scores are low and I honestly am not sure how else to help my son other than turning to a tutor. How does your tutoring style work? Do you kind of get a feel for what the student is learning in school or have worksheets? I'm just not up to par on how tutoring for my son would work. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
