Algebra in Smithfield, NC

Hello Todd, My name is C. J., I am 42 years old, decided to leave EMS after 17 years and make a career change. I am enrolled @ Lenoir CC in their Aviation Management and Career Pilot Technology program, placed into Math 080 somehow. I thought I welded that door shut on algebra some 25 years ago, but she has come back to get me and has cut a hole in the floor to get to me yet once again, We are 3 weeks into the semester, I immediately asked for help and got a tutor. After 2 weeks and 3 hours, I do not feel as if it has helped much at all as I am still floundering like a fish out of water! I really need help in finding what works for me to pass this class A.S.A.P. My wife found you on this site in efforts to help me as she says algebra looks like Greek to her, as it does to me as well. I remember very little from my H.S. algebra days and am hoping that you could help spark that fire to help me comprehend the basic principles and laws of algebra. I am tired of it taking me hours to do some of my algebra homework that is only 20 questions and failing most quizzes because it takes me so long to finally figure things out.
