3/4 Grade Transition in Hillsborough, NJ
I have a 9-year old daughter who never struggled with school until 3rd grade. She has been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and she is having a comprehensive evaluation on June 11 (to confirm the diagnosis and evaluate if there are any other learning difficulties). She is not taking any medications - I am trying to teach her skills to overcome her inattentiveness. Her primary struggle is reading comprehension. She is about 1/2 year behind on her reading level at the moment. She is reading S or T level books, but she doesn't read for pleasure yet. I also would like someone to go over some math during the summer so that she can transition well into 4th grade. She doesn't struggle with math but I don't want her to fall behind either. I would like to meet up once or perhaps twice a week at the Hillsborough library, at around 5:30 or 6pm.
Looking for someone who is compassionate, patient and skilled at teaching 3/4 grade - reading and math and someone who understands a distracted mind.
