English Math in Northridge, CA

Hi! We're looking for a female tutor for a 7th grade girl who is in an accelerated program in middle school, however is struggling in some areas, mainly English and Math as explained below. She needs help in English (reading comprehension) which also would improve her understanding of history, since history involves reading. She needs to develop good study habits & strategies, which would result in more motivation to study. She'll be writing essays this year for which she could benefit from some tips, as well as some math tips & strategies to improve her grasp of pre algebra concepts. If she learns to study using effective and fun techniques, she will enjoy the learning process as much as she enjoys her computer adventures. She responds well to game type presentations. Mom is an elementary teacher but it's difficult to tutor one's own daughter, who will learn better from an objective person. She responds well to teachers, etc, especially if you are sensitive and present the materials in a fun and patient manner, creative methods work well for her. Can you help us? . We live in Northridge Wilbur and Plummer area.) Tutoring hours and day/s can be mutually arranged. Do you have references to share?
