We have a 14 year old in 7th grade who struggles both in Pre-Algebra and English/Writing. While in Honors Pre-Algebra, English, and Reading he tends to struggle with basic concepts and still has skills gaps resulting from years of moving around from school to school while in Foster care. We adopted him last year so working on stability as well. HAs been with us just over a year and at Howard Jr High since coming to live with us.
