Reading (dyslexia) in Houston, TX
My 13 yr. old daughter has always struggled with reading. I believe she has all the characteristics of dyslexia but I am not qualified to make that assessment. She has been ignored by H.I.S.D to have her evaluated for years. I have tried with another tutor but after 4 sessions she was still given work that that was too elementary and not being challenged. I cannot afford lessons that are not constructive. She gets so frustrated with her inability to read fluidly that she is discouraged and hopeless. She doesn't feel that she will ever master reading even on the average level.
