Elizabeth, I have seen your profile on a variety of sites. I homeschool my 10 year old daughter who is very gifted and has a passion for reading and creative writing. She has been writing stories for many years, obviously starting with paragraphs with illustrations and now typing stories that are many pages long and/or trying to evolve into chapter books. She has an amazingly vivid imagination and very detail oriented in her imaginative play (the worlds she makes of have fully developed characters with names, families, birthdates, careers, etc and she loves fantasy and has invented very in depth fantastical creatures which have detailed descriptions of where they are from, the climate/habitat they live in, what they eat, what eats them, what magical powers they might have etc). So she has created all of the characters and worlds and the characters have back stories that she has invented, but she needs someone to help her include all of this information logically into her stories (stories need more introduction to the characters and more in depth descriptions). Her writing and language usage is very advanced though. She is very private with her writing and it becomes a part of her so even though I homeschool her, I am not the right person to help her improve upon her writing. She needs an experienced teacher/writer to work in cooperation with her to develop her skills. please contact me to further discuss my daughter and what I am looking for and if you think you would be a good fit for her. Finding a good fit is really the most important thing as she is very shy/reserved until she gets to know someone. Ideally I would like to find someone to work with her on a regular schedule (although we are quite flexible) and hopefully on a long term basis. We are located fairly close to you - in Wallingford - our violin/piano teacher is in Drexel Hill and it takes 15-20 min to get to her house. I look forward to hearing from you. Y.
