Instruction: SystemVue Simulation project. report presenting background research as well as the simulation results. Hints to Background Research: Ethernet are the most often used base-band digital communication links. This project is concerned with the physical layer of the Ethernet link where the students are expected to do research and present their understandings on the topic. Sufficient details related to the simulations should be presented about the Ethernet physical layer specifications. The channel/media for the base-band link should be the Cat5e cable/twisted pairs. Requirements on simulation project: The simulation should include random bit sequences representing the information stream at the proper bit rate; followed by the base-band modulators to the Ethernet physical layer specifications pertain to Cat5e twisted pairs. The channel should simulated realistic transmission characteristics (e.g. attentuation, bandwidth,etc.) of the twisted pairs. In addition, two types of noises: Additive and Multiplicative noises will be considered with comparable magnitudes; Additive noise are sufficient to model typical electric noises but multiplicative noises would be needed to model the multi-channel effects. The comparison study should report the performance analysis (e.g., Eye diagrams, BERs, etc.) of the two types of noises under similar signal-to-noise ratios (SNR).
