Camille, Hello! My name is N. C.. I am a Louisiana resident and a recent college graduate. I am attending Law School at LSU in the fall. I have been wanting to learn a foreign language for most of my undergraduate years but I lacked a strong enough reason to do it. I set a goal for myself to be able to practice law in France. Why France you might ask. Civil Law, the legal system Louisiana uses that no other state in the U.S follows., is the same legal system France uses. France owned the Louisiana territory until the U.S. bought it from France. The influence still remains. As a result, the law knowledge I learn at LSU can be applicable in France to some degree. My heritage is also mostly French. I have made a goal to take French lessons throughout the school year, attain an internship during the summers in France, and then continue French lessons during the next school year. My plan is to do this for the next three years. However, I am focused on completing this year. Thank you for your time and patience. Assuming that this is something you might be interested in, I have a few questions and concerns. I want a teacher who can hold me accountable and who is not afraid of saying the hard truths.
