NBME in Chicago, IL

Hello Ms. Erica, My name is C. (short for C.ar), Im a Medical Student and my school requires a certain score on the NBME CBSE in order to take the Step 1. I have devoted countless hours and even took a 6 month leave of absence to prepare for the exams which included 7 weeks of Kaplan in-center in addition to solving somewhere around 10k practice questions... somehow I keep falling short. I would really appreciate help pin-pointing what it is that I am doing wrong and finding a way to strategically overcome whatever that is and move forward.
