math in Albany, CA

Hi Jairus, I'm looking for a math tutor for my girlfriend's son who is in 6th grade in Albany, CA. He struggles with many concepts especially around division, decimals, geometry, and transitioning into pre-alegbra concepts. He's in the process of being diagnosed with ADHD. As someone with advanced math training myself, as I have worked more closely with him, I have found his struggles are probably more associated with his attention difficulties which has led to work avoidance and anxiety towards math. This can lead him to rush through assignments and has led to some poor habits. However, in working closely with him, I have found he is more than capable cognitive-wise in math (probably average or slightly above average on understanding concepts, when he is able to focus). He is also very bright and funny outside of math. I think having a dedicated tutor who can work closely with him to stay on top of his math assignments, develop better homework habits, and hone fundamentals would really help him a lot. We are looking for someone who can tutor (ideally) twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays in ~3:15-4:15pm timeslot. Because of his ADHD, I think half hour time slots would be better to start if this would be possible for you. Please let me know if this might be a possibility for you and if you have any questions.
