"My educational background includes a Masters of Science in Statistics so I am very comfortable with understanding analysis of chess positions, which plays a large part of determining how well student is grasping the concepts. I also have the chess title of certified National Master. This comes after becoming a three-time New Mexico State Chess Champion. I was also the New Mexico High School Chess Champion as a junior, subsequently participating in the national Denker Tournament.

I have mostly taught chess at my local high school in a classroom setting. My methods include setting up a demonstration board and playing through instructive games, and asking questions about different aspects in the position. I also have had private students that I would meet on a weekly basis over Skype for lessons. I have been coaching for over 10 years in both a classroom setting and one on one. The age range I have taught is between 10 and 40.
