"Hi! I've been a private tutor for Chess and Math for over ten years with over 1000 hours of experience! Most of that experience is from teaching K-12 students, but I've also been employed by the math tutoring center at my college. I enjoy tutoring because I love to see my student's confidence grow as they solve problems that used to be challenging for them. Along with being a strong chess player and teacher, I also have the niche skill of teaching competitive math problems, such as Math Kangaroo and the AMC 8/10/12.
I am looking for students that are looking to keep up with schoolwork, or want to push themselves and get ahead. I'm also looking to help students grow a love for chess and competitive math problems, both of which were (and are) an incredible help to my critical thinking and time management skills. The only requirement I have is that my students are go-getters with a hunger to achieve.
I am able to teach all basic math up to Calculus 2, including geometry. I took both the ACT and SAT and got perfect scores on each of the Math sections. I also led my high school in the AMC 10 and 12.
I have been teaching chess in both individual and group settings since I was 14. My current USCF rating is 1900. I love teaching people brand new to chess, as well as helping a current tournament-goer reach greater heights.
COVID-19 has made getting an education even harder. Because of this I try to keep my tutoring as affordable as possible. I want to see you and your loved ones succeed. Please reach out and let's try to work something out, I know I'll be the best tutor for your buck!" less...
