"I am a native Japanese speaker and a resident of the U.S. with a background in business. I am bilingual in Japanese and English, both written and verbal. Along with my 10 years of experience in teaching Japanese, I have also spent time translating and interpreting as a freelancer for several companies. Although I am specialized in teaching intermediate to advanced level students, I have experience in teaching students at all skill levels and across diverse backgrounds. I currently teach one-on-one online lessons. I have prepared students for JLPT N1~N5, AP Japanese Exam, and EA/CBE.

I cater my lessons to the individual student to meet his/her diverse interests and academic abilities. I focus not only on the grammatical and conversational aspects of the Japanese language, but also on the cultural aspects. Culture influences the way people use language. Japanese is an incredibly contextual language. Therefore, I strongly believe that Japanese culture is not only an inseparable component of knowing and understanding Japanese, but also one of the most enjoyable aspects of learning Japanese. My experience and bilingual background have provided me the opportunity to see first-hand the most effective way to teach and interact across cultures.
