"I have been teaching AP World History for 18 years, AP European History for 15 years and Regular, US Government for 3 years. My AP Exam pass rate for AP World History far exceeds the national pass rate of 50% for the past 16 years. My AP European History AP Exam pass rate is even higher than my AP World History scores which can most likely be explained because over 50% of the students already had me for AP World History their sophomore year.

As a result, well over half my students score 5's on the AP European History exam and at least 90 percent earn at least a 3. There have been several years where 100% of my AP European History students have passed that exam.

I have been told by my students that if I am not the hardest teacher in the school, I am definitely in the top 3, along with the AP Calculus, AP Statistics and AP Physics courses. Why does that matter? Because the skills, content and analysis preparation that happens in my classroom will assist the student, not only in my class and the AP exam that May, but students can also use what they have learned from me in their upper-level classes and into college.

My teaching and tutoring style incorporates: humor, visuals, movie clips, current events, Socratic Method, organizational techniques, and an overall love of the content that I am teaching. I have taught at an ACT/SAT prep school for a couple of years as well. I integrate what I taught students preparing for the ACT/SAT to what they need to prepare for in the AP History courses that I currently teach.

I believe that history repeats itself, just not in the same frequency nor intensity. When I review Bob Dylan's The Times They Are A-Changin' with my students the first day class, I set the tone of the importance of history in their teen-age lives...and beyond.
