"Hello! I graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Chinese. I am currently in my gap year and will begin medical school in July! My diverse academic background reflects my passion for analytical problem-solving and language studies, a strength I bring into my approach to teaching. I scored an 800/800 on the SAT Math subject II test and a 131/132 (99th percentile) on the Chemical and Physical Foundations section of the MCAT (medical school entrance exam). I enjoy sharing the strategies that helped me achieve these results with my students.

I began tutoring in-person in high school, in a variety of math subjects from elementary algebra to pre-calculus. I was awarded an IB diploma. My Higher-Level subjects were Math, Physics, English, and Chemistry. Since January of 2021, I have been an online tutor, accumulating over 2000 sessions. I have extensive experience tutoring AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Physics, and lower-level math classes.

In college, I volunteered as a Chinese teacher for local 2nd-grade students, combining my love for teaching with an immersive, age-appropriate teaching style. Starting January 2021, I began working as a teaching assistant for college Physics I and II, as well as Electrical Circuits. There, I expanded my experience to aiding during labs.

My tutoring philosophy prioritizes a deep understanding over simply getting questions "right." I often share the challenges I faced when learning these subjects, helping students feel less alone and supported. For younger students, I adapt my approach to include more tangible, relatable examples, which make abstract concepts more accessible. Over the years, I have tutored students of many ages, from elementary school to college, helping to prepare for AP exams, college exams, and standardized tests like the SAT and ACT.
