"I am a current third grade teacher, but have taught grades K-6 during my 30 years of teaching. I love to teach and help students achieve success at his/her own pace. Reading is my passion! I believe it is the center of all learning. In my classroom and in the tutoring environment, I feel it is important to use materials that compliment a student's personal interests. This helps in the learning and motivation of the student. It also helps me get to know the student better and learn what is important to him/her.

I enjoy tutoring because I am able to work one-on-one with students and can adjust instruction according to the needs of the student. I would first complete assessments to determine individual levels/needs then plan instruction.

I have taught Reading for over 25 years. I have a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist. Reading incorporates many skills such as decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Instruction would be given in each of these components in a tutoring session.

I love kids and love to teach! I have experience teaching in the classroom all grades K-6! In addition, I currently teach 3rd grade, so I know the requirements of the OST testing and the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.
