"I am currently a 2nd year Medical Student at the TCU Anne Marion Burnett School of Medicine. I have recently taken and have passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1. I find myself being fascinated by clinical science and am more than happy to tutor students who are studying for their Step 1 examinations. Before attending medical school, I graduated from Whittier College summa sum laude with a 4.0 GPA and a Bachelors of Arts in Neurobiology. I then spent 3 years working as a Wyzant STEM tutor and have always been in love with subjects such as biology, biochemistry, genetics, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. I have also provided tutoring for the MCAT, in which I scored a 517 (94th percentile). My score breakdown for the MCAT is the following: Chem/Phys: 131, CARS: 126, Bio/Biochem: 130, Pysch/Soc: 130. I have learned and taught effective passage reading strategies needed to solve difficult problems that students often get wrong. I strongly emphasize finding the correct pieces of evidence in MCAT passages and using it as support for justifying the correct answer.
