"Hi! I’m Peter.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Biophysics, where I was an Honors student and recipient of multiple academic scholarships. I am now continuing my MD education at the University of Vermont, where I have also earned Honors distinction and scholarship awards for academic excellence.

During my time studying biophysics, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of STEM. Complex subjects like quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and physical chemistry can feel intimidating, but I learned from exceptional professors that mastering these fields requires more than memorization. It’s about building physical intuition and understanding why the formulas work.

That’s the foundation of my tutoring style:

1. Start with core concepts to develop intuition

2. Work through practice problems together

3. Provide take-home exercises and custom resources for reinforcement

I’ve tutored since high school, specializing in AP Calculus AB/BC, and I’m equally at home teaching college-level calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology. I prefer 1-on-1 sessions to ensure each student receives my full attention and tailored guidance.

In addition to tutoring, I’m an active researcher with over 10 published papers across biophysics and medical research. My experience in both STEM and clinical research allows me to help students connect theory to real-world applications.

I also recently scored a 519 on the MCAT (top 3%) on my first attempt, with section scores of 128 (CARS), 131 (Psych/Soc), 130 (Chem/Phys), and 131 (Bio/Biochem), and I’m happy to share my approach and study strategies." less...
