"My educational background has developed through a consistent focus on the sciences and on communicating information clearly. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology Pre-Medicine with a Chemistry minor at Taylor University, followed by a Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Certificate at Temple University. I am now pursuing my Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I continue to strengthen my understanding of complex medical concepts and how to explain them effectively. Studying abroad in Cuenca, Ecuador added an important dimension to my education by exposing me to different learning environments and improving my ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
My teaching experience has come through roles that required flexibility, patience, and clear communication. I spent time teaching English as a Second Language, where I created lessons and worked with beginner and intermediate students through Zoom. That experience taught me how to adapt to each learner’s pace and how to build understanding step by step. I also gained experience in health education while working in underserved communities in North Philadelphia and during several medical mission trips to Guatemala and Honduras. In those settings, I often explained health concepts to both children and adults, which helped me learn how to simplify information and make it approachable.
I have worked with learners of many ages and in settings ranging from individual sessions to group teaching and community education. These experiences shaped a teaching style that focuses on meeting people where they are, building confidence through clarity, and helping students engage with challenging material in a way that feels manageable and meaningful." less...
