My students get into schools from Harvard and Brown to UMichigan and NYU. I also work on graduate school admissions essays, including law school and medical school personal statements.

After toiling for 11.5 years in school, an essay should not be what holds a student back from the college they really want to attend.

What makes me unique is my background in advertising. Before focusing on college admissions essays, I was an award-winning copywriter and creative director for some top NYC agencies. My clients included Coca-Cola, The History Channel, IKEA, and many more. I know how to develop compelling stories and strong "hooks" that schools will "buy." I have a B.S. in Mass Communication from Boston University and a Master's in Education from Hunter College.

The 5 Hour Approach: I developed my own tutoring approach to college admissions essays. For the personal statement, I guide students to find their personal statement essay story in one two-hour session though a combination of gentle conversation and active listening. I have no worksheets or other busy work. In a third one-hour session, I guide students through how to write their essay. After this, editing and revision, including identifying the best words and sentence structure. My approach is supportive, constructive, and collaborative. Careful and efficient.
