"I have 9 years of classroom experience teaching physics, and conceptual physics I also have 5 years of experience tutoring AP Physics, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Teaching is my passion and my calling! I have worked with hundreds of students over the years, meaning I've seen the kinds of things that can trip people up and make learning seem hard. I try to assess what aspects of the subject matter are creating a challenge, and then break the material down into small chunks and build it back up slowly, building confidence and skill at the same time. I know a ton of real life applications for science, which can bring it to life for the student and make it fun. I'm passionate about learning and teaching, and I like tutoring because I never really liked classroom learning. I'm full of creative ways to explain problems. I'm patient and a good listener. I think it makes sense to teach a frustrating subject from someone who shares your frustrations with that subject.
I want to tutor in order to continue working with students of all ages while I work on transferring my teaching credentials from Illinois to Oregon state. Education is a lifelong passion of mine and want to continue being involved in it however I can. I see the positive impact that I have with students in my classes and I want to be able to help even more kids to grow in their skills and confidence levels towards physics. Whatever your level, I'll be working to help you understand how to approach problem solving so that you can feel confident approaching learning material and working through problems on your own in the future.
