"Hello! My name is Delaney. I am an early career educator who just completed self-designed undergraduate studies in Special Education with a minor in Interdisciplinary Disability Studies. I currently hold Education Technician certification (Level III) through the Maine Department of Education and am pursuing Special Education teaching certification.

I have two years of experience working with students with special needs and more than 3 years of experience as an educator broadly. The majority of my experience has been with students in grades 6-12 in Special Education and World Languages, but I have worked with students in all grades K-12 in a wide range of subjects.

As a first-generation college student, I have also received positive feedback for my mentorship skills in both school and youth residential program environments, helping students connect their interests and talents with potential paths of study and career, and being able to speak from my eclectic professional experiences including but not limited to education, life sciences, and dog grooming. One of my biggest success stories is that I brought a previous student from a 2nd grade math level to a 10th grade math level with one year of one-on-one tutoring.

I pride myself in my cultural sensitivity and awareness. I speak English and German and will go the extra mile to relate to students' unique backgrounds regardless of how different they may be from my own.
