With 36 years of experience teaching secondary mathematics, I continue working with both students and instructors in the classroom. Over the years, I have been most fortunate to work with students who have challenged me to scaffold solutions for difficult concepts. I specialize in step-by-step approaches to problem solving.

I teach several math subjects, including basic algebra, calculus, college algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, advanced algebra, geometry, and ACT math. After two years of consistent ACT preparation, my most recent student raised her ACT math score from 21 to 32. I have also prepared several individuals for the MEGA assessment (formerly the Praxis II), certifying them to teach mathematics in Missouri.

I received a Masters in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction from UMKC. I have a Career CPC in Mathematics from the State of Missouri for grades 7-12. I also have certification in gifted education from University of Missouri, Columbia.

Following an evaluation by Dr. R. Stephen Green, Superintendent of KCPS, and Dr. Tony Stansberry, a state supervisor with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, I was awarded 'Star of the Classroom' by The Kansas City Royals and The Missouri Lottery. I was 2022 "Teacher of the Year" in my district.
