"Hello, I am a graduate student at West Texas A&M University with a degree in Psychology. I have been tutoring statistics for close to 10 years now. I have practical, real-world experience tutoring statistics and conducting/designing/analyzing experiments for a wide variety of fields (Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Business, Nursing, etc).
I have extensive experience using many common statistical software:
SPSS
R/R Studio
Excel
STAT Crunch
JASP
G*Power
My background is research-oriented and I am skilled in both PowerPoint, and Word. I am versed in a wide array of statistical procedures including, but not limited to, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics (including both parametric and non-parametric), and power analysis. I have lectured at professional conferences about topics including null hypothesis significance testing, Bayesian probability, calculating confidence intervals and measures of effect size, and parametric assumption testing.
Over the years, I have worked with students that have varied greatly in their skill level and needs. I have helped high school students taking their first statistics course and Ph.D candidates getting ready for their dissertation. These opportunities have allowed me to develop the skills necessary to be able to present each concept in a clear and precise style designed to minimize the feelings of dread that can come with stepping into the often confusing world of statistical analysis.
I earned my degree in Psychology at West Texas A&M University. In my previous role as a graduate assistant, I taught many general psychology classes (including the development and grading of the exams) over the years. However, general psychology is not the extent of my experience; I have also guest lectured in many courses including, but not limited to:
Experimental Psychology
Learning
Philosophy of Science
Assessment
History and Systems of Psychology and many more.
I know many people come to statistics with some real concern about their ability" less...
