"In 2019 I've graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics (UCCS), during which time I tutored the subject to college freshmen and worked as a lab TA. Currently I am in a PhD graduate program (UCCS) specializing in electromagnetism. During my time in college, I've covered: Special Relativity, Thermodynamics, Classical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism (and Circuits), Optics, Elementary Quantum Mechanics. On the side, I had to learn the MATLAB and Python languages, as well as basic programming principles including: logic, for/while loops, data structures/types, debugging etc. Please message me with details about the subject/questions you are learning, so that I can prepare ahead of time.
My Philosophy:
When teaching Physics, I like to draw the student towards real life examples of the principles or theorems. This helps develop “physical intuition”. My joy in understanding Physics comes from not just solving arbitrary math equations, but applying them to our world. My joy is further enhanced when I can share that understanding with others. As Richard Feynman said: “There are no miracle people.” Before college, I was not naturally talented at Mathematics, but instead I got there by meticulously, painstakingly navigating around all the walls and pit-falls that lay hidden.
A particular subject may look daunting to master; However, I believe that if we break subjects down into their components, learn step by step, and practice many example problems, our continual improvement will eventually win out. Often times the reasons for our misunderstandings come from not clearly defining our terms (semantics). I truly believe that if we clearly define our terms and we pace ourselves appropriately, then we all have the potential to reach our academic goals, whatever they may be. I'm here to help you get started with that." less...
