I hold an undergraduate degree in English Literature from Union College, and a graduate degree in Social and Cultural Foundations in Education from DePaul University. My professional credentials include Illinois Community College Board Standards Proficient Instructor in Language Arts, and Chicago Jobs Council Workforce Professional Certification. My background in Tutoring, Adult Education, Professional Development, Social and Emotional Learning, and Career and Workforce Development across ages allows me to tailor lessons to each students’ unique needs and make a plan to help them reach their goals at their pace.

I have been working as a tutor and teacher for over 15 years, working with students ages 12- 64 in in-person settings including coffee shops, libraries, community centers, volunteering, community colleges, and university, and virtually. My student-centered approach focuses on building understanding through real-world examples, encouraging active problem-solving, strengthening foundational skills, social emotional learning, and using learning styles as a foundation for lessons. I believe that learning should be engaging, supportive, and adapted to each students’ strengths.
