"Hello! My name is Jonathan P., and I am a widely acclaimed novelist, playwright, and journalist. My most recent novel, It's Not The End of the World, was published in June of this year, hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "a wild ride of a novel," and selected by The New York Times Style Magazine as a pick for Best Summer Fiction. My first novel was published by Harper Collins in 2021, and was named one of the best novels of the year by Entertainment Weekly, NBC News, The Advocate, Lambda Literary, Bustle, Goodreads and more. I am the co-creator of the Off-Broadway musical THE BIG GAY JAMBOREE, which was nominated for five Lucille Lortel Awards, four Drama Desk Awards, and three Outer Critics Circle Awards. I've published non-fiction reportage and personal essays in a variety of publications including VICE, Slate, OUT Magazine, W Magazine, Electric Literature, Atlas Obscura, Literary Hub, and Elle. I've sold film and television projects to Amazon Studios, Paramount Pictures, and ABC. I am an A-list ghostwriter, having anonymously collaborated on major non-fiction books from some of our culture's most dynamic public figures. I also run LIT, my own creative writing workshop, providing students with rigorous creative writing coaching.
As a tutor, I bring the same rigor and insight that define my professional work to every student I teach. My approach is highly personalized and intellectually expansive—designed to help writers of all levels refine their voice, sharpen their ideas, and elevate their craft to a professional standard. I work with a select group of students to ensure each receives the kind of one-on-one attention that fosters artistic and academic growth. Whether guiding a high school student through the college admissions essay, mentoring a university writer toward publication, or helping an adult return to the page with purpose and confidence, my tutoring offers access to the level of mentorship and editorial expertise typically reserved for established writers and industry professionals." less...
