"I'm Matt, and I hold a Doctor of Business Administration degree, along with a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor's in Information Technology. I have over 13 years of teaching experience at the university level, and have taught over 2,000 students and helped them toward careers in accounting and business. I have primarily taught subjects such as Accounting Information Systems (AIS), Principles of Accounting, Auditing, IT Audit, and Fraud Examination, but I can teach numerous other business-related courses.

When I work with students, I focus on fostering and increasing their critical thinking skills. I also take a structured approach to working with students to help them be prepared and stay engaged. I work on helping them understand the bigger picture within the subjects they are studying. I want them to understand not just what is happening, but why it is happening. When students have a better understanding of the "why", it helps them get more invested in their learning and not just focus on the answer to pass a question on a test.

I also have over twenty-five years of business leadership and technical experience, including significant audit, business operations, technical operations, fraud, cybersecurity, and risk management experience with major consulting firms, banks, and other financial institutions. I also hold several industry certifications, such as the CISA, CFE, and CISSP, and I can help students prepare for work in those fields and help them get ready for those certification exams.

I am normally easy to reach and try to reply to students as quickly as possible. I also talk with my students to understand what is working and what is not, so we can make changes that benefit them and improve their experience.
